All it Takes is a Goal!

May 21, 2010

Finally! Find out why some people almost always succeed.

“Who Else Wants To Stop Living A So-So Life Where Nothing Seems To Change?”

“Live A Life You Can Be Proud Of, Step By Step, And One Goal At A Time!”

Absolutely nothing, I say.

Nothing is impossible. We all heard in school over and over again, “You can do anything you put your mind to?” So many people, maybe you, but certainly me…

…so many people only did with that line what we do with most great advice at a young age. Nothing. We heard it, but we didn’t listen to it.

Listen, somebody has to be President. Somebody has to be CEO of the company. Somebody has to graduate at the top of the class.

Why can’t it be you?

Millions of people eat healthy every day. Millions of people live their lives debt free. Millions of people go back to school.

Why can’t you? Chances are, the only thing keeping you from reaching your goals…

…is you!

A time comes in every person’s life when they need to sit down and really think about their goals. Every person dreams. But not everyone can come up with a plan to realistically set out after their dreams.

Those people just need a little help. Some good solid advice. Advice that you can find today within…

“…Your Guide To Setting Goals Successfully!”

Greetings Friend,

Give me 20 minutes and I’ll change the way you view the rest of your life.

No matter what you want to do. Write a novel. Change your diet. Get better grades. Take up a new hobby. Run for office. Learn another language. Do some spring cleaning. Or whatever your heart desires.

It all starts with taking the first step. And that step is on page 5 of my report.

But my guide won’t teach you how to just reach your goal of losing 15 pounds. It’ll teach you, step by step, how to completely change the way you live your life.

Starting with life time goals, and starting with page 6, I’ll show you how successful people start planning their life 50 years in advance.

Can you imagine? Where do you want to be in 25 years? 10 years? Next month?

When you dig through my guide, you’ll find the value of planning your life backwards. (I explain what I mean on page 23) Successful people are dreamers. They envision what their life will be like in 25 years.

But then they take steps today to make sure it happens. “Your Guide To Setting Goals Successfully” will take you by the hand and have you setting goals for 25 years from now.

And help you figure out what you can do tomorrow to start putting yourself into a position to make your dream become a reality.

“All men dream: but not equally.

“Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
wake in the day to find that it was vanity:

“but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men,
for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible.”

Do you often feel miserable or depressed ?

July 26, 2009

Here is a proven way which is simple to learn that will bring you back to a happy state of mind in a few moments — it doesn’t involve drugs and it’s free !

You only get one chance to make a good ‘First Impression’ so it is vital that you get it right!

July 11, 2008

Your appearance, when you are selling is of no concern to anyone but you but to you it is vital.
People make an assessment of your character within a few seconds of seeing you. They make judgements about your intelligence, your trustworthyness and your social standing all in the blink of an eye.

Your appearence also affects your self-esteem and if your appearance is wrong you place yourself under an immediate handicap.

I know some salesmen who sell successfully despite their appearance but how much does the wrong appearance cost you?

You will never know.

Your prospect will not tell you he doesn’t like your style of haircut, your suit or tie, or your kinky boots but these things register.

They create an emotional resistance to you and consequently to your product.

Your product may be good enough to overcome this resistance but why fight the fight with one hand tied behind your back.

 How should you dress then?

That is difficult to answer, but there are important guidelines that can be safely offered,

 1) Dress as though you are already the successful person you wish to become, with emphasis on quality rather than flamboyancy.

 2) Dress with the other person in mind. How would he expect to see a successful person like you dressed?

Then keep in mind that the majority of people who are running a business i.e. the people you are selling to, usually reach their positions in their mid or late forties, by which time their tastes are more conservative.

These are the people who will give you the success you deserve, so void insulting their sense of propriety.

Do this without sacrificing your individuality or personality, which is a dynamic force in selling.

All the above is just common sense really but another factor in this is that when you are well turned out, you know it, you feel good and when you feel good you are able to generate the next important part of your impact on the client or prospect and that is your enthusiasm.

Your smart appearance and your enthusiasm will always get you off to a good start towards success.

 Success.

What is success? I’ve heard many definitions but the one that rings true for me is the one stated by Earl Nightingale:

“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy aim”.

Successful people are not people without problems – they are people who have learned how to solve their problems. They do this by setting and achieving their goals

Your actions will be the key

July 11, 2008

Your actions will be the key to your accomplishment

Your short-term actions multiplied by time equals your long-term accomplishments.
If you want to see change in your life, see big results, the first thing you must do is change your current actions. Otherwise the old saying becomes a reality: “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you always got!” But if we change our actions, we will see different results!
Most people want to accomplish a lot in their lives. Yet very few actually do. Why is this? It is because what they believe will equal their long-term accomplishments are wrong. Here are some of the things that people believe will create great accomplishments for them:
Beliefs
Vision
Big dreams
Ideas
Ideals
Values
Desire
The truth is that while these things are very important, they are not enough in and of themselves. We need to have the above underlying all that we do, but we need to actually do something! And this is where most people stop. We need to take action on our dreams and beliefs every day.
Here are some examples of how this works.
Who loses weight?
The one who knows all about the benefits of exercise or the one who walks 3 miles a day?
Who retires early?
The one who dreams of a house on the beach, or the one who invests $300 a month?
Who writes books?
The one who desires to become a best-selling author, or the one who gets up early and writes for half an hour a day?
Who has the best marital relationship?
The one who knows how much spending time with their spouse can improve their relationship, or the one who sits down and talks with their spouse every night?
Who makes the most sales?
The one who believes they can become a great salesperson, or the one who makes 10 sales calls a day?
I think you get the point.
When it all comes down to it, we must act upon our vision, beliefs, and ideals or we won’t see them come to fruition. I see too many people who know what is right, but don’t ever do anything about it.
Imagine what a difference we could make in our own lives and the lives of others if we would simply begin to act upon on our beliefs!

Creative visualisation.

July 11, 2008

The tool that will change your life and how to use it.
The process of change.
If you wish to bring about change in your life, creative visualization is the most valuable tool that you can use,
it costs nothing to use and is so easy to accomplish that you may be tempted to dismiss the idea. But it is acknowledged as one of the most valuable tools in Hypnotherapy and Neuro-linguistic programming in bringing about life changing attitudes and behavior.
Try this when you have 15 minutes of solitude, relax in your chair, to help your relaxation close your eyes and let your mind come to rest, now in your minds-eye create a picture of yourself, as you would like to be.
You are creating a mental picture of “the ideal you”. See how you would stand, how you would dress, hear how you would speak,
Now find in the storehouse of your mind a memory of a time in the past when you had just done something that you thought was great, see the picture in your minds eye of that particular moment. Now let that picture grow to fill a huge screen, see everything that is in the picture ,what you were doing, who else was in the picture, now mentally step forward into the picture and feel again the feelings you had from that success, with every breath you take let that feeling grow to permeate every pore of your body.
Enjoy the feeling, this is your success feeling, it belongs to you and you will never loose it… Use this precious tool to build your self-esteem.
Do this daily for 21 days and this will create a change in you so much so that you will not want revert to your old self.
Everything starts in the mind. “If you can see it, you can be it.”
Your appearance tells people at a glance who and what you are, they then respond to you, as they believe appropriate, they respond to the person they think you are. In the first glance you win or lose important attributes like respect and authority. Next, how do you sound? What is the tone and pitch of your voice and what about your vocabulary? These speak volumes about your attitude, your character, your education and your social status. Carry this ideal mental image of yourself in your mind wherever you go and constantly ask yourself how this imaginary person would act in each situation that you find yourself in.
As this comes into your mind more and more you will find yourself acting as your ideal would act and every time this happens you reinforce your ability to make this your “new self” You will find, over time, that you dress better. Gradually a sense of well-being and increased self-esteem will help strengthen your resolve so much so that you will have no desire to revert to your old self. This is a progressive state of personal development. This practice is a form of self-hypnosis and NLP (neuro-linguistic-programming), which has proven to be very effective in altering people’s view of themselves and their world. I repeat the sentence again which should be a driving force for your continual improvement “You can help people most in this world by making the most of yourself.”
Having learned the mechanism for change and started the process you must now kick into action.
Because self-improvement is an ongoing lifetime cpractice it is no good waiting until you are perfect to reap the benefit.
Take action and reap the benefits as you move along improving one habit at a time.

The greatest Discovery of the 20th Century.

July 11, 2008

One of the greatest discoveries of this century, made by a professor at Harvard, is that “People can Change”.

We all have a mental image of ourselves, which was formed in our first seven years of life – our formative years – which gave us the sense of who, and what, we are. This is our self-image, which seems to be constant. This idea of ourselves is known as “The Unchanging Self”.
I remember I still felt like “the same old me,” the person I wasn’t happy with, until I was 30yrs old, when fortunately I learned about this professor’s work.
It proves that our self-image, which controls the way we think about ourselves and the way we interact with the world, can be changed! I was glad to set about making the change. Our mind determines our world; our world is a reflection of our attitude towards our lives and ourselves and is seen as good or bad, depending on our own self-image.
Everything starts in the mind, and that’s where the changes have to be made!
Facing the Challenges.
The idea I had of myself as an introvert, was limiting my life, so that was a change I needed to make. I wasn’t sure what to do but I remember reading in Frank Bettger’s book “ How I raised myself from failure to success in selling.” how nervous he was of speaking in front of business people,
He solved it, by signing up for a course in ‘public speaking’.
I decided to do the same. The prospect terrified me; nevertheless I knew this was a mountain I had to climb.
Despite the terror of the first few meetings I soon began to enjoy the challenge.
Over the years the ability to speak at a business meeting and from there to progress to addressing groups of people and later to be able to give a speech at large conferences and on television, has enabled me not only to multiply my income but has also given me a deeper sense of fulfilment.
The Tools that you have.
It’s helpful to know that in the course of a year there are 8760 hours.
If we allow eight hours a day for sleeping, which equals 2920 hours and we spend 1800 hours working, we are left with 4000 hours during which we are neither working nor sleeping. This leaves a vast reservoir of untapped potential with which to increase your mental and physical abilities. If you just take one hour a day, five days a week to exercise your mind on how to improve your knowledge, or your sales skills, or your level of service, or on changing your self image, you will soon be taking the high road to a better income and quality of life.
To Summarise: -
Who you think you are was formed in your mind by the time you were seven years old.
This person was constrained by a lot of negatives, laid upon you by your parents and teachers in their well-intentioned efforts to keep you safe, with phrases like “you can’t do this” “you mustn’t do that” “don’t do that – it’s not safe.” etc.
This conditioning could still be controlling your life and the things you do – even though you are now an adult. The good news is “we can change”
We can change the mental image that we have of ourselves which will enable us to create a more fulfilling life.
Success starts in the mind because –everything starts in the mind.
But what is success?
+
I have heard many definitions but the one that rings true for me is the one given by Earl Nightingale of Connant Nightingale the publishers who market the works of some of the most successful people in the world.  He said
“ Success is the progressive realisation of a worthy aim.”
Successful people are not people without problems – they are people who have learned how to solve their problems. They are also people who set and review their goals.

The miracle of your mind.

July 11, 2008

Scientists tell us we are using less than 10% of our mental ability.
You only need to use a little more to become a winner.
Our mind’s are like a computer which if only we could command it would produce from within us the ability to perform to a standard we now think unattainable
The foremost function of the mind is to solve problems.
All we ask it to do are only menial tasks, like tie my shoes, turn on the TV etc. We waste life’s opportunities by closing the door on our own problem-solving, idea producing genie of imagination. We do this because we are afraid to take an independent path and because of what the rest of our friends will think of us. The retention part of our computer stores millions of bits of information, knowledge and experience. These act as wings for our imagination to soar.
In man’s eternal quest for new ideas Einstein said ” imagination is more important than knowledge”
Our inability to solve problems is more likely to be due to lack of imagination rather than a lack of knowledge or judgment. Creativity can be developed by reducing our mental blocks.
These are:-
1) Unawareness of our gift of creative potential.
2) Failure to realize that we can develop this creative potential.
3) Unwillingness to try.
Our ego creates a block on these activities for fear of looking foolish or being rejected by our circle of friends but even the turtle knows that he can’t progress without sticking his neck out. Don’t mistake activity for accomplishment. If you really want to get somewhere, decide where you want to go. Once you have decided your mind is your key that will create imaginative ideas on getting there.
Scientists tell us only 10% of our mental capacity is normally what we use. Successful people are not people without problems they are people who have learned to solve their problems.
In the last 50 years we have progressed more than in the previous 1000 years.
90 percent of all famous scientists are still alive today
To summarize:- what you are and what you have is derived from 10% of our mental ability
We all have a vast reservoir of untapped potential.
In the course of the year there are 8760 hours, if we allow eight hours a day for sleeping, we are left with 2920 hours and if we only spend 1912 actually working, this leaves almost 4000 when we are neither working or sleeping. This is the vast reservoir of untapped potential with which we can improve our mental or physical abilities.
Look at it this way, it is the same in business in the competition for a share of the worlds riches as it is in any race.  The winning horse in a 4 mile steeplechase only has to be one inch ahead of its competitors to pick up the huge prize money.
Using your mind to find ways to continually increase your value and your service will make you into a winner.
You should take one hour a day, five days a week opening your mind to creative ways of improving who and what you are.
Exercise is as vital to the mind as exercise is to the body.
You can help people most in this world by making the most of yourself.
You may now be asking yourself how do I go about the process of
“ making the most of myself ?” and that’s what we move onto next.

Why your success depends upon your health.

July 11, 2008

Now I focus on the other important factor for success.
You can’t be long term successful without it.
As a business owner you have many assets. Your expertise, your client base, your brand, the list could go on. But what is your number one asset and how do you protect it?
It’s your health, of course. Without good health, your expertise, your client base and your business will all suffer.
You need good health to be able to function effectively, be creative, productive and to have enough energy to see projects through.
However, it is all too easy to neglect your number one asset when running your own business. Client demands, commitments, family life, crises, all compete for your time and attention. You feel you can’t justify regular breaks during the day because work is piling up! You stay up later and get up earlier in order to stay on top of things. Perhaps you’re not even sleeping as well as you used to.
How about weekends, is work seeping into Saturday and Sunday?
Are you grabbing fast food on the run just to save some time?
If any of these questions resonate with you it’s time to take action. There’s no need to make drastic changes straight away.
Start by making small changes.
Take regular 15 minute breaks throughout the day for a quick stroll outside, or for sitting quietly doing nothing. Rather than wasting time, you’re actually going to be saving time because when you get back to work you’ll be so much more efficient and productive.
Exercising regularly will enhance your energy levels and general health immensely. It doesn’t even have to be slogging it out at the gym or running. Thirty minutes of walking a day will greatly improve your sense of well-being
Make sure you’re getting at least 7 or 8 hours of good sleep a night.
Reduce the amount of caffeine you drink during the latter half of the day so that you’re sleeping more soundly.
Staying connected to your friends and family is essential for balance. Schedule time out to share laughter with friends over dinner and enjoy a game of Frisbee in the park with the kids. Don’t let your hobbies and other interests slide because of your business. If you like reading, relax and read books that aren’t related to business!
Make a commitment to yourself that at least on one day of the weekend you don’t turn your computer on at all, you don’t go into your office, you don’t even think about work!
Even if you are working as an employee you should still think of yourself as an entrepreneur if you want to control your own destiny.
Now let’s focus on the tool that will make your dreams come true. Your mind!

The magic word “Attitude.”

July 11, 2008

Is your cup half full or half empty?

Your answer will determine whether you lead a happy successful life.

This is a life changing lesson

Our attitude towards life will determine what we get from life.  Our attitude towards work and learning will determine what we can do well.

William James a Harvard professor said “the greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitude of mind”

First let’s look at our attitude towards ourselves.  We take ourselves for granted.   We believe that other people can do things that we cannot.   Many people oppose change yet change in life is the one thing on which we can absolutely count.

We need to train our attitude day by day.  Take a look at successful people in every occupation.

You will find that no matter what field they work in they all have one thing in common.  They have a good attitude towards themselves, they believe they can accomplish and as a result they do remarkable things.  They are called successful, fortunate, gifted, lucky.    They are frequently no better able than the people around them but they do have a good attitude.  They do expect more good out of life than bad.  They expect to succeed rather than fail.

If you want something out of your life make up your mind that there are more reasons why you should get it rather than you shouldn’t.

Go after it, strive for it, save for it,  ask for it and nine times out of 10 you will get it.  Our environment is really a mirror of our attitude.  If  we don’t like our environment we have to change our attitude first, the world plays no favorites.   It is our attitude that determines our lives.

Studies of thousands of successful people show that they radiate confidence.  They expect success and this is why they get success.  You can spot these people by the way they look and act.

In five years or less you can get right to the top of your present field by adopting the right attitude.  Start today by simply acting as though you are already the successful person you want to be.  Act, look and feel successful.   Actions trigger feelings just as feelings trigger actions.  Here is a test that will prove this to you.  If you carry out the following instructions for the next 30 days your attitude towards life will be dramatically improved.

Act toward the world and everyone you meet as though you were already the person you want to be.  If you want success act as though you already have it.  If you want admiration from others give this admiration to others.  The most important person on earth to any person is himself ,so for the next

30 days act as though everyone you meet is the most important person on earth (remember he is to himself )

You should do this for two reasons

 1) This is the way you should treat other human beings

2) It will help you form a habit that will work with amazing results.

Have you noticed that in large well-run companies the people at the top are nice people, easy to talk to and they are courteous to you?

This is because they have the right attitude, this is why they are at the top.  When a person carries out this instruction he immediately puts himself in the right company i.e. in the top 5% of the people amongst those who will be most successful, he has made himself an embodiment all of that which he seeks.  He has made the mold in which to fashion the final form he wants to be.  The things that person would have and do wi9ll come to him.  It’s called “the law of attraction”

Everyone in the world wants to be and needs to be loved and respected.  They will give their love, friendship and their business to those who will give them what they want most, a feeling of importance.

 Summary;

It is our attitude at the beginning of a task which will determine its outcome.   It is our attitude towards life that will determine life’s attitude toward us.

We are interdependent, it is impossible to succeed without others.

It is our attitude towards others which will determine their attitude towards us.

Before a person can achieve the life he wants he must become that kind of person.

Your mind can only hold one thought at a time, as there is nothing to be gained by being negative– be positive.

Everyone craves to be needed, give them this feeling.

Don’t talk about your problems or your health unless it is good.

Radiate the confidence of someone who knows where they are going and good things will start happening to you.

The Attributes of Success.

July 11, 2008

The three characteristics of all successful people and how to develop them.

Studies have shown that successful entrepreneurs possess these three characteristics:
1. Self-confidence
This is the magical power of having confidence in yourself and in your powers and abilities.
2. Achievement Oriented
Your results are gained by focused and sustained effort. You concentrate on achieving a specific goal, not just accomplishing a string of unrelated tasks.
3. Risk Taker
You realize that there is a chance of loss inherent in achieving your goals, yet you have the confidence necessary to take calculated risks to achieve them.
Entrepreneurs are people who make decisions, take action, and think that they can control their own destinies. They are often motivated by a spirit of independence which leads them to believe that their success depends on raw effort and hard work, not luck.
So which of these three main characteristics is the most important? Believe it or not, it has to be self-confidence. Without self-confidence, nothing else is possible. If you don’t believe in your abilities, then the first challenge that arises may knock you off the path to achieving your goals.
Here are a few things to keep in mind for maintaining a higher level of self-confidence.
Positive Thinking
Well, it all starts with a positive attitude, doesn’t it? Believing that something good will happen is the first step. Negative thinking simply is not allowed. You must truly believe that there are no circumstances strong enough to deter you from reaching your goals.
Remember too, that positive thinking can be contagious. When positive thinking spreads, it can open doors to new ideas, customers, friends, etc.
Persistent Action
Now all of the positive thinking and believing in the world is useless if you don’t apply it towards a goal.
You have to take action; no excuses are allowed. Your actions must also be persistent. Trying something once and then giving up is not going to be enough. You must keep at it, taking one step at a time.
If you can’t get by a certain step or obstacle, then find a creative way to try again or just go around it.
At the beginning of this article we identified a few traits that are common among successful entrepreneurs.
Learn to visualise your success. You should be able to look ahead and see yourself where you want to be. Now just maintain a strong belief in yourself and your skills, stick with it, and never give up.
If you do that, you’re already half way there!
Boundless enthusiasm.
To become enthusiastic, force yourself to act enthusiastically.
If you are excited, the listener will become enthusiastic even if you present your ideas poorly. You should use all the enthusiasm you can muster until you become consumed with enthusiasm – then nothing can stop you.
Some people know enough about their product to write a book – yet they fail to earn their living selling it.
Others have only a fraction of this knowledge and yet make a fortune through selling it.
The vital factor is enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is the highest paid quality on earth, probably because it is one of the rarest. But it is the most contagious. Resolve to develop it and spread it as far as possible.
